Pirouet is a modular piece of furniture designed for shared family living, exploring a common tension: living rooms either overrun by toys or too sanitized to give children the freedom they need to explore. Pirouet exists as a mediator.

 

In its base form, it acts as a stool or small side table, with storage for children’s things. When kids want to play, it separates into small seats and a low table, for drawing, reading, or playing, and removing the top reveals a sunken surface for messier activities. Everything tidies away easily and stays in the room, so children don’t feel pushed out and parents don’t feel taken over.
